Toilet training is one of the most common problems I am called in to address.
House training is most commonly a problem for younger puppies, but can affect dogs at any age. Every case is different, but can always be treated with my simple step by step plan. Here, we work together to find the source of the issue to first prevent the ‘accidents’ indoors. I then teach you how to associate a word with the behaviour of going to the toilet in the right place. Lastly, there are so many little tips and tricks that help to speed up this process of ensuring your dog is learning where is and isn’t appropriate to relieve itself. The dog needs to be kept on a regular schedule that I can help you to create.
It is important to always remember that no dog naturally wants to go to the toilet in the same area it lives and sleeps. By recognising the subtle shifts in behaviour and body language we can predict when to move outside and help our dogs to learn more quickly. Toilet training can be a messy and unhygienic problem, that needlessly wrecks havoc on even the most experienced dog owners life! Save yourself the time and aggravation- get in touch today.
